Meat does not taste like it has been frozen. Oh.and ask for the fries to be cooked crispy, otherwise they are good, but limp. Asking for ranch dressing in addition to catsup for fries cost 75 cents more. A sprinkle of dried rosemary herb over the fries cost $1.00 extra. Ditto for my husband, but he chose the salad so we could split the sides. I had the Shadyside hamburger with Rosemary fries. We decide to just order the "craft" burgers anyway.

Our server came to take our order - I had to ask her to explain the Build Your Own Burger menu (you actually have to pay $1.50 for a bun - more on that bun later!), 25 for ketchup, mustard, etc. We were seated very quickly - it was 330 on a Saturday and we were one of three tables. a hightop (I declined as I'm still recovering from surgery and needed to be more comfortable than perched on very narrow metal chairs). The "No Catcalling" sticker on the door was odd and prompted a discussion with our tween who didn't know what that even was. did not feel the atmosphere was welcoming or unique. We got an email from Visit PA the day before and decided to make the hour trip north to try Burgh'ers.
